(Redmond/Personal Injury) Don't Get Screwed by Insurance
Written By: Josh Lowell ~ 5/28/2015

Unfortunately for drivers, their auto insurance company is just that - a company. If you are in a car accident and experience Personal Injury, these profit driven companyies will make decisions with the goal of improving their bottom line instead of looking out for you. These decisions may affect individual drivers every day and when accidents happen, some - although not all - companies will do whatever it takes to save a buck.

Recently we were approached by a young lady who had been in a car accident over a year ago. We uncovered that after her initial treatment and a couple months of physical therapy, her auto insurance company declined to make any more payments because "treatment was no longer necessary or reasonable." We investigated and found that her insurance company had hired doctors from other states to review her medical records. Those doctors determined that the treatment wasn't needed. These edicts were in absolute contradiction with the opinions and appeals of her providers.

This young lady was still feeling the effect of the accident on her body. We advised her to seek chiropractic treatment and during this time we would negotiate with her insurance company. Fortunately, we were able to work out a deal to have her treatments paid for, but unfortunately the damage to her claim was already done. Taking a year of treatment off likely ruined the value of her claim. More importantly, she unnecessarily suffered from an additional year of pain and discomfort.

This entire debacle could have been avoided had she sought advice and counsel from the outset. Insurance companies may utilize some seemingly shady tactics to refuse payment. Here, at Magnuson Lowell, we can help you avoid these Personal Injury pitfalls.
